Pixel Art Converter
A pixel art converter in the plain sense: an image goes in, a pixel grid comes out. No style transfer, no upscaling tricks — every block is a true average of the region it covers.
If you are converting for a project — a game jam, a pattern chart, a set of avatars — the batch mode turns up to 10 images into one ZIP of 4x PNGs.

What the Converter Actually Does
It divides your image into a grid and fills each block with its average color. Palette modes then snap those colors to a chosen set: the original colors, black & white, a console palette, or a custom count from 2 to 256.
Because every block is a true average, the output is a genuine pixel grid — the same structure sprite editors and pattern tools work with.
PNG or SVG
PNG is the safe choice: every app and platform accepts it. SVG turns each block into a vector rectangle, so your pixel art scales to print size without ever blurring.
The 1x PNG is free forever. SVG and 4x high-res PNG are part of the one-time Pro Export Pack.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a pixel art converter?
A tool that turns a regular image into pixel art by averaging regions of the image into colored blocks. This one runs locally in your browser with adjustable block sizes and palettes.
Can I batch convert images?
Yes — Pro unlocks batch mode for up to 10 images at once, delivered as a single ZIP of 4x PNGs. The Pro Export Pack is a one-time purchase.
Should I export SVG or PNG?
PNG for compatibility — every app and platform accepts it. SVG when you need to scale the artwork to print or display sizes without losing sharpness.
Can I use the output commercially?
Yes. Your images belong to you, and exported pixel art has no watermark or license restriction.
Why is there no watermark on the export?
Because the free export is actually free. Pixelate is funded by the one-time Pro Export Pack, not by defacing your artwork.
