Pixelate

Crop PNG

Drag a crop box over your image, fine-tune it with the corner handles, and export at exactly the size you need. Despite the name, it crops JPG, WebP and GIF too.

Cropping runs entirely in your browser, like everything else on Pixelate — no upload, no queue, and the crop is done before the coffee is.

How It Works

1. Upload an image and drag the highlighted box into place; pull the corner handles to resize it.

2. Lock an aspect ratio (1:1, 4:3, 16:9, portrait versions too) or rotate and flip the image first.

3. Download as PNG or WebP with transparency, or JPG on a white background. Copy the PNG straight to your clipboard if you prefer.

Exact Output Sizes

Turn on custom output size and type the width and height — the crop is resized to those exact dimensions, which is handy for banners, thumbnails and upload requirements.

Without a custom size, the export comes out at the natural pixel size of the crop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which formats can I crop?

PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF (first frame), AVIF and BMP. The export is always PNG, WebP or JPG, whichever you pick.

Can I crop to an exact size?

Yes — enable custom output size and enter the width and height. The cropped region is resized to those exact dimensions.

Does cropping keep the transparent background?

PNG and WebP exports keep transparency. JPG has no alpha channel, so it is exported on a white background.

Can I rotate or flip before cropping?

Yes — rotate in 90-degree steps and flip horizontally or vertically, then crop what you see.

Is the PNG cropper free?

Yes. Every format and every size is free, with no watermark and no Pro gating.
